THE BOOKS OF MY TEENAGE YEARS

books from my teenage years

Hello everyone ! Today I want to talk about the books that I loved when I was younger and that marked me so much that I’m still rereading them nowadays.

Harry Potter and the sorcerer stoneFirst, this post wouldn’t be possible without the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling. These books have accompanied me for years. I grew up with Harry, Ron and Hermione.

When the last one finally came out I had to grab it instantly. It was the very first book I read in English (in 24 hours… yep!)

The Twilight series by Stephenie Meyers. I’m cheating a little for this one to be honest, because I started it after high school but still. I reread this series like 2 times. It may not be the best series but I really loved it ! And I’m sure I would still love it if I decided to reread it today !

The Islanders, by Katherine Applegate, formely known as the Making Out series. They re edited it and somehow decided to change its name.
I was obsessed with this series. I bought it when I was in Junior High School, and I’ve read the whole series in less than a month. I am curious, though. The Making Out series has like 29 books on Goodreads, and yet we only had 12 in French. Moreover, The Islanders series has 4 books, each one containing 2 Making Out books… Will they edit the rest ? I hope so !

Marc Levi’s books. These 2 were the very first I read, Et Si C’était Vrai  and 7 Jours Pour Une Eternité.They are published in English too : If Only It Were True and Seven Days For An Eternity.
These are easy reads, I flew through them and really loved them. I still enjoy everyone of his books.

There are of course many others, but these are the most marking ones !

What about you ? Which books did you love during you high school years ?

  1. I love Marc Levy’s writing, I turn towards it when I’m looking for a quick easy read. 7 jours pour une eternité has to be my favorite one of his books. I also read l’étrange voyage de Monsieur Daldry which was a little different from what I’m used to with Levy but I ultimately loved it 😊

  2. I used to binge read The Babysitter’s club when I was younger. My aunt has a huge collection of the series and I drown myself in those whenever I come to visit her house. I still love those books, ten years from now! lol Childhood reads can be a classic as well hahaha

  3. Oh I love this post! Strangely, I’m one of these few people who didn’t read Harry Potter ’til my late teenage years, so…does that still counts? And oh, the Twilight series, I read and loved it, but if I re-read it now, I think my opinion would be a little different, ahah 🙂
