Today’s theme is top ten books I’m thankful for !

  • City Of Bones by Cassandra Clare, that really started my love for YA !
  • Me Before You by Jojo Moyes. That book changed my vision of life. Really !
  • The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. That book I read in French and discovered two things : YA and dystopia !

That’s it, it’s only a top 6 but that’s okay !

Hello lovelies ! It’s time for a TTT ! Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke And The Bookish.

Today’s theme is Top Ten Characters That Would Make Great Leaders. I chose to keep leader in a general way.

  • Lila Bard from the Shades Of Magic trilogy by V.E. Schwab. She is fearless and hotheaded at the beginning but she surely learned from her mistakes and is totally able to lead a team or even a country !
  • Kestrel from The Winner’s trilogy by Marie Rutkoski. She is calm and has a cunning mind, perfect for politics. But she is also true to her heart.
  • Zuzana from the Daughter Of Smoke And Bone trilogy by Laini Taylor. She is fierce and always gets what she wants !
  • Ismae from Grave Mercy by Robin LaFevers. She knows how to see what’s right. She would make a great leader !

  • Hermione Granger from Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling. Do I need to say why ?!
  • Dorian from the Throne Of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas. Cool tempered and far from being a hot head. The perfect ruler !
  • Alec Lightwood from The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare. Calm, he knows how to analyze a situation.
  • Peeta Mellark from The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins.
  • Adrian from the Bloodlines series by Richelle Mead. Well, not at the beginning of the series, obviously hahahaha !
  • Four from the Divergent trilogy by Veronica Roth. For the same reasons than Alec.

That’s it ! What’s on your TTT this week ?

  • November 9 by Colleen Hoover. One word : self-confidence.
  • Maybe Someday, also by Colleen Hoover. Because it’s my first CoHo book !

top-ten-tuesdayHello lovelies ! It’s time for another Top Ten Tuesday ! It’s a weekly meme hosted by The Broke And The Bookish.

Top Ten ALL TIME Favorite Books Of X Genre. I decided to do my top ten favorite fantasy books.

The first one is of course Harry Potter.
The Mortal Instruments is another series that will stay with me.
I recently finished The Grisha trilogy and adored it, it’s very unique in its way. And The Darkling !
Throne Of Glass is another amazing series ! I’m always late when it comes to reading its books because I’m always waiting for the US paperback…

Another one of my fav is the Daughter Of Smoke And Bone trilogy. I really enjoyed it !
Falling Kingdoms is a series I read back to back to back to back this year and I can’t understand why I waited so long before reading it !
Lady Midnight is the first book in The Dark Artifices series and I can already tell that this series will stay in my top ten !

A Darker Shade Of Magic is an amazing series ! I can’t wait for A Conjuring Of Light to be released !
The Infernal Devices is my favorite trilogy, and I think it will stay that way for a long long time !The Archived is a duology (so far) that I really enjoyed because I found the concept really original ! And the story is really gripping !

That’s it ! Have you read any of these ?

Shadowhunters 2

Hello everyone ! Today I’m gonna talk about Blood Calls To Blood, the eleventh episode.

I was surprised to see that this episode was closer to the books than the previous ones. It was a rather good surprise.
To be honest, the big plot twist I saw coming. Since last week’s episode haha !

I don’t have a lot to say about this episode. The plot was okay, even though Renwick’s battle was supposed to be an epic one. It’s the final battle of City Of Bones, after all ! But the way they made was okay somehow. It worked, in my opinion !
All the most important things were here :

  • Jace’s doubts
  • Jocelyn being found
  • Jace and Clary finding out that they’re actually brother and sister.

I also noticed that Kat’s acting was better in this episode ! And so was Dominic’s. I hope that it will be that way from now on !
I was glad that we got to see Raphael again ! I really appreciate this character, which was not the case with the Raphael from the book !

As you can see, I don’t have as many issues with this episode as I had with the previous ones. My only regret is about the Renwick’s battle, as I said earlier.

I still found Izzie’s trial useless, though. But it didn’t bother me. I got used to the idea that the TV show is not the exact copy of the book.

Now, I cannot wait for next week’s episode ! It’s called Malec ! I’ve really enjoyed all the Malec scenes so far, so yeah, I’m expecting a good episode haha !

What about you ? Did you enjoy this episode ?

Hello everyone ! I have been sick lately, so excuse the tardiness of this post ! Here is my monthly wrap up ! I read a total of 5 books, 3 physical books and 2 e books !

  • Awakened by P.C. & Kristin Cast. Honestly it was a huge disappointment ! I gave it 2 stars.

E books :

  • All Broke Down by Cora Carmack. This is the second book in the Rusk University series. I gave this book 5 stars ! I really like this series so far, it’s a great NA series !
  • Center Of Magic by J. S. Fields. The author sent me his book in exchange for an honest review (thanks again!). I enjoyed this fantasy book and gave it 3 stars !

That’s my wrap up ! I’m pretty satisfied with it ! My favorite is The Final Empire without any hesitation ! What have you read this month ?

City Of BonesCity Of Bones
Author : Cassandra Clare
Series : The Mortal Instruments
Genre : Young Adult, Urban Fantasy, Fantasy
Publication : March 2007 by Walker Books

Goodreads’ synopsis : When fifteen-year-old Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder― much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishing bizarre weapons. Then the body disappears into thin air. It’s hard to call the police when the murderers are invisible to everyone else and when there is nothing―not even a smear of blood―to show that a boy has died. Or was he a boy?

This is Clary’s first meeting with the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the earth of demons. It’s also her first encounter with Jace, a Shadowhunter who looks a little like an angel and acts a lot like a jerk. Within twenty-four hours Clary is pulled into Jace’s world with a vengeance, when her mother disappears and Clary herself is attacked by a demon. But why would demons be interested in ordinary mundanes like Clary and her mother? And how did Clary suddenly get the Sight? The Shadowhunters would like to know…

I read this book first when the movie came out. I gave it 5 stars. I’m still giving it 5 stars !
This review contains some minor spoilers in the characters part.

It means ‘Shadowhunters: Looking Better in Black Than the Widows of our Enemies Since 1234’.

The shadowhunters’ world is such an original one. I really love the universe Cassandra Clare has created. It’s utterly brilliant, in my opinion.

The plot is also really interesting. It is twisted, dark and most of the time you can’t see what’s coming ! There are some huge plot twists !

I forgot how funny this book is. The Infernal Devices’ books have a more serious tone.

Just coffee. Black – like my soul.

Characters :
– Clary is a teenage girl, a normal one. She’s not really girly. When she discovers the truth about her legacy, she doesn’t cower nor cry.
She fights to save her mother.
– Jace is the badass and witty character. Funny in a dark way, he carries his own insecurities. I didn’t like the way he acted toward the end of the book. His lack of action wasn’t his usual demeanor. He was weak-minded.
– Simon is Clary’s sidekick, with awesome quotes. He is neglected not because he is a mundane but because Clary wants to protect him from this madness.
– Magnus is the magnificent character. I love Magnus ! He is helpful but without looking like he actually helps the shadowhunters.
– Alec is an angsty teenager. He is not assuming what he is. Somehow, he is jealous of Clary.
– Luke is such a nice character. He is the fatherly figure Clary needs.
– Jocelyn is a good mother. SHe lied to her daughter because she wanted to protect her, she wanted to offer her the most mundane life.

to love is to destroy, and that to be loved is to be the one destroyed.

I really enjoyed this book, obviously ! The shadowhunters’ books are a reference in the YA fantasy genre !

5 stars

november tbr
I know, I know, this photo is pitiful ! Especially for a TBR. This month I hope to read 4 books, 2 physical copies and 2 e books.

Physical books :

  • The Final Empire by Brandon Sanderson which is the first book in the Mistborn trilogy (series ?). I heard and read so many great things about it !
  • City Of Bones by Cassandra Clare which is a reread !

E books :

  • All Broke Down by Cora Carmack, book 2 in her Rusk University series. I really enjoyed the first book !
  • Center Of Magic by J.S. Fields. I was sent this book in exchange for an honest review !

Since The Final Empire is a chunky book, I decided that 4 books would be a reasonable goal for this month. I hope to be able to read more, though.

Alright ! That’s it ! What’s on your November TBR ? Have you read any of these books ?
