MY TOP 5 READS FOR 2017

best reads 2017Hello lovelies ! The end of the year is upon us and I want to share with you my top 5 books of 2017 ! It was difficult to narrow it to 5 books but I did it ! (and to be honest there’s one that counts for the whole series that I read this year hahaha !)

So, in no particular order :

  • A Court Of Mist And Fury by Sarah J. Maas. It’s the second book in A Court Of Thorns And Roses series and this is my favorite one. But it can stand for the whole trilogy to be honest because I really LOVED these three books !
  • L’héritage Des Rois Passeurs by Manon Fargetton ! A must read for all the fantasy lovers who can read in French (because I don’t think it has been translated…yet.)
  • Without Merit by Colleen Hoover. Of course it had to appear in my top 5 ! I mean… it’s a CoHo’s book…
  • A Conjuring Of Light by V.E. Schwab. A beautiful conclusion to an amazing trilogy ! I can’t wait to read her series taking place in the same world !
  • Lord Of Shadows by Cassandra Clare, the second book in The Dark Artifices trilogy. Oh God, this book ! And let’s be honest…Cassandra is the cliffhanger’s queen (with V.E. Schwab) because now we hav to wait for the third book…

That’s it ! Which books read this year made it to your top five ?

| FRANGLISH REVIEW | L’HERITAGE DES ROIS PASSEURS BY MANON FARGETTON

L'héritage des Rois PasseursL’Héritage Des Rois Passeurs
Auteur : Manon Fargetton
Genres : Fantasy

L’univers m’a tellement plu !

This book is one of my favorite reads of 2017. Seriously, this book is AMAZING !

Plot

We follow Enora in Rive, the world as we know it.Her family is slaughtered right in front of her eyes. TWo brothers, Charly and Julian rescue her, helped by an old man, Hank. She now has toface her legacy. She is the last Passeur. She can through the two worlds, Rive and Ombre which is the magical pendant of our world. But her life is in danger in both worlds. In Ombre, we also follow Ravenn, heir to the throne. She has been in exile for years now.

I really loved this book ! I found the plot particularly intricate and interesting ! The idea that we all have a Noir Portrait, a sort of double and that your lives are connected, I found this idea amazing !

The writing style is exquisite. I was able to picture every single scene ! It’s fast paced, well written and I really got attached to the characters !

I don’t really know how to explain it but there’s something really refreshing about this book !
It’s such an interesting world, you can’t help but want to learn more about it ! The characters are so well written, and bonus point, there’s diversity !

Characters

  • Enora is what you could call an everage young adult. She only wants one thing : to avenge her family. But then she learns more about her legacy.
  • Ravenn is such an interesting character ! Proudly the woman she wants to be. She left somehow exiled by her own father because of who she was, she grew into a fearless warrior and a fine strategist !
  • Charly is the a nice character. He brings light and is happy to be in Ombre.
  • Julian is way more darker. Drunk most of the time, he is far from being happy with his life.
  • Hank is such an enigmatic character !
  • Pelekaï is a fierce warrior and such a strong ally for Ravenn.
  • Lïam is such a cutie !
