The Mistborn trilogy by Brandon Sanderson. The plot, the magic, everything is unique !

Oooh. Tough one ! Probably Harry Potter !

Harry Potter, again ! I hope it will stay a reference, a series that will make a lot of children dive into the reading frenzy that we got !

Percy Jackson is such a funny series !! I laughed so much while reading it !

• Anna And The French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins. I read it years ago and I wasn’t expecting too be hooked that way !
• After by Anna Todd. Same as above. I bought her book because I was gonna see her a second time at a bookish event and I wanted to give her work a try. Oh boy !
• The Air He Breathes by Brittainy C. Cherry. Another good surprise !

• The Winner’s Curse by Marie Rutkoski. It was totally a cover buy. Well I don’t regret it at all !
• An Ember In The Ashes by Sabaa Tahir. One of the very few books I bought because of the hype. I’m always afraid when it comes to reading a hyped book.
• Six Of Crows by Leigh Bardugo. Another very good surprise !
• A Court Of Thorns And Roses by Sarah J. Maas. One of my now favorite series !

• The Lux series by Jennifer L. Armentrout. Another big positive surprise !
• Me Before You by Jojo Moyes. It’s a life changing book, in my case. It opened my eyes !
• Cinder by Marissa Meyer. The Lunar Chronicles is another good surprise !

Hello lovelies ! How are you ? I can’t believe it’s already Tuesday ! Which means it’s time for another Top Ten Tuesday ! It’s a weekly meme hosted by The Broke And The bookish.

Today’s theme is top ten books I’m thankful for !

• Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows by J.K. Rowling is the first book I read in English because I couldn’t wait for the French version to be released. It made me realize that I was able to read in English.
• The Fault In Our Stars by John Green. I think it’s the second book I read in English that I bought when I started watching booktubers.
• City Of Bones by Cassandra Clare, that really started my love for YA !

• Me Before You by Jojo Moyes. That book changed my vision of life. Really !
• The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. That book I read in French and discovered two things : YA and dystopia !
• After by Anna Todd that learned me not to judge a book because it’s a fanfiction haha !

That’s it, it’s only a top 6 but that’s okay !

• City Of Fallen Angels by Cassandra Clare, the fourth book in The Mortal Instruments series. This cover, it feels like Fall !
• Queen Of Shadows by Sarah J. Maas. It’s the fourth book in the Throne Of Glass series and look at this reddish shade !
• The Book Thief by Markus Zusak.
• Apollyon by Jennifer L. Armentrout book 4 in The Covenant series. This flower guys !

• The Fiery Heart, book 4 in the Bloodlines series by Richelle Mead ! The orange shades are speaking for themselves.
• Allegiant by Veronica Roth. It’s the final book in the Divergent trilogy. Another orange cover !
• Me Before You by Jojo Moyes. A light brown cover that says Autumn for me !

• The V Girl by Mya Robarts. I’m in love with this cover !
• If I should Die by Amy Plum. Fall in Paris could be the name of this cover ! It’s the final book in The Revenants trilogy !
• Lola and The Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins !

That’s it ! I am so in love with this season. The colors, the feel, the heat letting its place to a colder weather. Spicy pumpkin lattes etc…

• All Broke Down by Cora Carmack, the second book in the Rusk University series ! I loved it so much !
• The Final Empire by Brandon Sanderson, the first book in the Mistborn trilogy. It’s such an amazing read !
• November 9 by Colleen Hoover. Now, it’s the first book that made me feel so angry. About the story, about the author, about everything. But I ended up loving it nonetheless !

• A Gathering Of Shadows, the second book in the Shades Of Magic trilogy by V.E. Schwab.
• Me Before You by Jojo Moyes. To put it in a few words, this book changed my life.

Vicious by V.E. Schwab is such a unique read ! I couldn’t decide which character was good or evil ! It’s very impressive !
The Star-Touched Queen by Roshani Chokshi, I’ve never read a book like this one !

November 9 by Colleen Hoover ! A book that takes place every year, on November 9th. Such a unique concept ! But I could have picked Confess, for its paintings or Maybe Someday, for its songs !
The Book Thief by Markus Zusak, because of the narrative point of view ! This is also the exact reason why I DNFed this book haha !
Aristotle And Dante Discover The Secrets Of The Universe by Benjamin Alire Saenz. What can I say about this book ? You should read it !

I marathoned the Grisha trilogy so I could read the Six Of Crows duology. I was really attracted by this stunning cover !
Seriously, look at it !
But the book ended being totally worth the hype ! One of my favorite reads for 2016 !!

BEAST – A BOOK YOU DIDN’T EXPECT MUCH FROM BUT PLEASANTLY SURPRISED YOU

After by Anna Todd, and the whole series !
I only picked up this book because I was to meet her again and I wanted to read at least one of her books before ! Well, I was positively surprised ! It’s far from being perfect, but I really enjoyed it ! I grew obsessed with the After series while reading it !

Now I need to buy the Landon duology !

GASTON – A BOOK EVERYONE LOVES THAT YOU DON’T

LEFOU – A LOYAL SIDEKICK YOU CAN’T HELP BUT LOVE MORE THAN THEIR COUNTER PART

Iko, from Cinder by Marissa Meyer. I can’t tell you how much I love Iko !
She is so funny, and loyal ! I think she has the best quotes !
But don’t get me wrong, I do love Cinder too !
It’s just that the sidekick character in this book is THAT awesome !!!

I am currently reading Cress, the third book in The Lunar Chronicles series and enjoying it so far !

MRS. POTT, CHIP, LUMIER & COGSWORTH – A BOOK THAT HELPED YOU THROUGH A DIFFICULT TIME OR THAT TAUGHT YOU SOMETHING VALUABLE

Me Before You by Jojo Moyes. This book, oh this book guys ! It opened my eyes on so many important things !

I realized that I needed to live my life at its best and enjoy every minute of it ! It’s such a wonderful read !
I highly recommend it if you haven’t read it already  !

“SOMETHING THERE” – A BOOK OR A SERIES THAT YOU WEREN’T INTO AT FIRST BUT PICKED UP TOWARDS THE END

The Falling Kingdoms series by Morgan Rhodes. I wasn’t really planning on buying it but I kept seeing these books everywhere and I got intrigued !
I still need to buy Crystal Storm that came out back in December though !
But I’m really enjoying this series so far ! I even read the first two books in the spin-off series, Spirits and Thieves !
It’s such a great world, so well built and the characters are really interesting !

“BE OUR GUEST” – A FICTIONAL CHARACTER YOU’D LOVE TO HAVE OVER FOR DINNER

Jem Carstairs, from The Infernal Devices trilogy by Cassandra Clare.

But let’s be honest, I don’t want to just have him over for dinner, if you get what I mean ! Ahem.
Jem is my bookish crush, my bae. So OF COURSE it has to be him !
Also, if you haven’t read this trilogy, what are you waiting for ?! these books are AMAZING !!

| ON SCREEN | ME BEFORE YOU

Me Before You

This is the movie adaptation of Jojo Moyes’ book also named Me Before You.

I have been meaning to watch this movie in a theater BUT it was really hard to find a French cinema broadcasting it.

Anyway. Me Before You was one of my favorite reads last year so of course I had to watch this movie !

The cast is amazing ! Emilia Clarke is playing Lou, this colorful and joyful young woman. She just lost her job and desperately needs a new one. She ends up hired as a caregiver for the grumpy Will Traynor, played by Sam Claflin.
Her fiancé is played by Matthew Lewis (you all remember Neville Longbottom, right ?! Well he changed. A LOT.) while her sister is played by Jenna Coleman.
I have to admit, I was afraid I wouldn’t like the movie because of the cast. Don’t get me wrong, they’re all great actors, but I was afraid I would see Danaerys Targeryen taking care of Finnick Odair, while her dear boyfriend, Neville Longbottom was too busy training to notice her. And let’s not forget her sister, the Doctor’s companion ! You get the picture, right ?
Well, I was wrong ! from the first minutes I totally forgot about the actors and only saw Lou, Will and all the other characters.

I was glad to see they were faithful the book. The most important scenes were there but they had to cut some scenes that I thought important too. Particularly one, about Lou’s past. It would have explained a part of her personality. But in the end, they didn’t change crucial  things and I’m really thankful for that. And I know a whole book cannot fit into a movie.

The soundtrack was perfectly chosen in my opinion. It enhanced the whole story and made me cry more ugly tears haha !

I really enjoyed this movie ! It was funny and quirky an heart wrenching. I laughed, I cried, and I loved every minute of it. I totally recommend this movie (and the book!) !!

This week’s theme is a Thanksgiving freebie ! I chose to do the Top Ten books I am thankful for !

• Me Before You by Jojo Moyes. This book brought me so much ! This is my TOP 1, seriously! There’s so much to learn from it ! I try to appreciate life more, to enjoy the little things.
• November 9 by Colleen Hoover. One word : self-confidence.
• Maybe Someday, also by Colleen Hoover. Because it’s my first CoHo book !
• After by Anna Todd. The whole series, in fact ! Because it turned me into an obsessed mess ! It didn’t happen for months , maybe years ! I think the last was while I was marathoning The Infernal Devices !

• Six Of Crows by Leigh Bardugo ! I finished it yesterday and I am so glad I decided not to be afraid of the hype !
• City Of Bones by Cassandra Clare. It’s one of the first book I read in English when I decided that the original version was better. Cassandra Clare’s books are a big part of why I decided to keep reading in English.
• Clockwork Angel and the whole The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare ! It’s my favorite trilogy ever and gah ! I can’t put words on what these books made me feel !
• The Final Empire by Brandon Sanderson because it reconnected me with the “classic” fantasy !

And finally Heir Of Fire and Queen Of Shadows by Sarah J. Maas ! Because I read them with Donna from chocolatenwafflesblog ! Thanks to these books, I got to know a wonderful and funny person !
