| MEMES | TOP TEN TUESDAY – TOP TEN SERIES I WISH HAD MORE BOOKS

top-ten-tuesday

Hello lovelies ! It’s time for another TTT ! It’s a weekly meme hosted by The Broke And The Bookish.

Today’s theme is Top Ten Series I Wish had more books.

Most of these series have great endings but I love them so much I wish it would keep going on !

The Infernal Devices trilogy by Cassandra Clare is my favorite trilogy. I miss Jem, Will and Tessa so badly ! Even though we get to “see” glimpses of some of the TID characters in her other series, I wish The Infernal Devices had more books.

The Six Of Crows duology by Leigh Bardugo is just amazing !!!! But two books… ah, it’s  too short !

The Archived by Victoria Schwab is for now a duology. But I know the author still hopes to be able to publish a third book. I hope she’ll manage it !

The Harry Potter series by J. K. Rowling. Because I need more Harry Potter stories in my life !

The Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead, and its spin off series, Bloodlines. I love this universe so much and I’m so sad I finished reading all the books from these two amazing series !

The Islanders by Katherine Applegate. I read this series when I was a teen and I felt like I was living among these beautiful characters, on Chatham Island !

Darkfever by Karen Marie Moning. I flew through this series !

Bridget Jones series, by Helen Field. I love this character so much and I wish I could read more about her story and her mishaps !

The Rusk University by Cora Carmack. I know she’s writing the fourth one and I can’t read to get my hands on it !

That’s it ! What’s on your TTT this week ?

Hello lovelies ! It’s that time again ! I know I haven’t been posting a lot lately but I’m in the process of moving out ! So… basically I’m super busy haha !

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke And The Bookish ! Today’s topic is : All About Books You Read Because of Recommendation.
I decided to do the top ten books that I read/bought because of recommendation.

Let’s start !

First, the romance/contemporary books.
Cindy from Lespetitsmotsdeci recommended two of these : Maybe Someday  by Colleen Hoover and Archer’s Voice by Mia Sheridan. I am so glad she recommended me these, especially Maybe Someday !!! It holds a special place in my heart ! I also read after because a lot of bloggers/bookstagrammers (including my dear Sharon from bookishgirl89) and I really don’t regret it haha !

These fantasy books I read because of booktubers ! Daughter Of Smoke And Bones by Laini Taylor was because of Katytastic ! Vicious  & The Archived by Victoria Schwab are because of Jessethereader. And Throne Of Glass by Sarah J. Maas is because of many booktubers haha !

These 3 books are on my TBR, waiting for me to make time to read them ! I bought them because I heard great things about them  !
First, Les Fiancés De L’Hiver by Christelle Dabos was also recommended by Cindy from Lespetitsmotsdeci and I can’t wait to start it ! 2 weeks ago I was at the New Romance festival and I got to meet a lot of romance authors. I bought The Air He Breathes by Brittainy C. Cherry and Beautiful Bastard by Christina Lauren because other bloggers attending the event recommended them to me !

That’s it ! What’s the top ten books that you read because of recommendation ?

| BOOK REVIEW | THE UNBOUND BY VICTORIA SCHWAB

The UnboundThe Unbound
Author : Victoria Schwab
Series : The Archived
Genres : Fantasy, Young Adult

this is the second book in a series. There are things that I say that will spoil you if you haven’t read the first book, The Archived.

It starts weeks after the end of The Archived.
Mackenzie is broken, and unabled to sleep because she keeps reviving the scene with Owen on the roof. She is haunted by him, the memory of him. She is struggling to make her parents believe that she is okay, to have a life as normal as possible. Wes wants to help her, but she keeps pushing him away, feeling that she is not worth his caring or his loving.

I love V.E. Schwab’s writing. Mackenzie is flawed, broken and confused. She doesn’t know what to do. Her heroin is not perfect, she shows that it’s okay to not be okay sometimes.
And it’s a remarkable job : we’re not able to tell if what she sees is real or if Mac is turning crazy.
I really love this character.

Let’s talk about Wes. Oh, Wes. Such an amazing character. Mysterious, yet always here for Mac, no matter how many times she keeps pushing him away. He has this wonderful hope inside of him.
He brings the humor, the jokes. And I love the dynamic between him and Cas to win Mac’s favors.
But it’s Wesley. I was so glad when I read how things turned out between the two of them.

I really like the scenes which were taking place in the high school. It’s nice to see the “normal aspect” of a Keeper’s life.

I hope the third book will be out soon (end of 2015, beginning of 2016) and that the cover will match the 2 previous books ! these covers are just gorgeous !!!

| BOOK REVIEW | THE ARCHIVED BY VICTORIA SCHWAB

The archivedThe Archived
Author : Victoria SchwabSeries : The Archived
Genres : Fantasy, Young Adult

This review may contain minor spoilers.

The Archived is one of my favorite books read in 2014.

Imagine that when you’re dead, your body become a History and is kept in this world called the Archives. Yeah, like books in a library.
Librarians are working in the Archives. Between our world (The Outer) and the Archives, there are the Narrows, were The Keeper are patrolling. Because Histories can awaken, and when they do, they go the narrow, and tries to go back to their life. They usually slip. Keepers are here to lead them back where they belong.

The main character is a Keeper. Mackenzie is an unusual one though. Her Grandpa introduced her to the Archived 4 years ago, which is too young according to the archived rules.
Mackenzie lost her brother, and her family decided to move to this old hotel transformed into a block of flats.
She is dealing with her loss, and her job. She has to lie to her parents, because no one can know about the Archived. She can count on Roland, a librarian who know her story and is a kind of mentor for her since her grand pa Da passed away.

She will meet Wesley and Owen. Both are interesting characters.

Victoria Schwab got me hooked with this story. I love the world she created ! I never read something like this before !
The characters development is present, especially for Mackenzie. She got used, then learned to use her brain and trust her gut.
She is not just a whiny girl and I appreciated that, a lot.
I really liked Wesley ! So witty, yet so delicate toward Mackenzie. How to tell her that he knows, how he wants to help her, how he regrets letting her behind when he discovered the truth. He may be my favorite character.
Owen. I knew something was going on ! Well done !

Some parts of the books were a little too predictable but that’s a minor thing, really !
This book has an amazing storyline, a good plot twist and lovelies characters !

I highly recommend this book !
